Entrepreneur of the year 2008

24/7 Courier Services, LLC

Alberic Jean-Baptiste

Alberic Jean-Baptiste, President and CEO of 24/7 Courier Services, LLC was named The UCEDC Entrepreneur of the 2008 year Award Winner.

UCDEC is a non-profit economic development corporation dedicated to stimulating economic growth and creating an environment for progress.

For over 30 years, it has served the business community and provided an objective and authoritative voice on business and economic development issues.

The Entrepreneur of the year 2008 Award was presented to Mr. Baptiste on December 10, 2008 for demonstrating strong “entrepreneurial spirit”, potential for long-term business success and growth, the ability overcome obstacles and adversity, a commitment to the community and innovation and creativity.

An emigrant from Fond Parisien, Haiti, Mr. Baptiste arrived to the US in 1993. He immediately found work with UPS upon his arrival as an independent contractor.

While with UPS, Mr. Baptiste realized he could offer similar services on a local scale. He formed 24/7 Courier Services & Logistics, LLC, and began his own delivery service in 2000 out of Mountainside, New Jersey.

The economic downturn following 9/11 caused Mr. Baptiste to temporarily shutter his business. He decided to pursue a degree in management from Kean University (graduating in 2007), and re-opened his operations in 2003.

Armed with this new management degree and years of practical experience, Mr. Baptiste took proactive steps to grow his business. He actively pursued government contracts, securing his first in 2008. He assumed more of a management role, and has hired twenty five independent contractors to make deliveries.

Mr. Baptiste demonstrates determination, smart growth, and dedication, and is poised to grow his business well beyond 2008. Congradulations!
